T20 World Cup 2024 Format
The 20 teams are split into four groups, each containing five teams. Each team faces off against every other team in its group once. The top two teams from each group advance to the Super Eight stage, divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from these groups then move on to the semifinals.
Deciding Tied Matches
If a game concludes with a draw, the victor will be determined through a Super Over. If the Super Over also ends in a tie, additional Super Overs will be played until a winner emerges.
Weather Interruptions
If it rains or the weather is bad, teams must bat for at least five overs in the group stage, and Super Eight matches for a result to be determined. For the semifinals and final, each team must bat a minimum of ten overs.
Knockout Matches
The first semifinal and the final have 190 minutes of additional time and reserve days. The second semifinal lacks a reserve day due to its proximity to the final but has 250 minutes of extra time. Should India reach the knockout stage, they are scheduled for the second semifinal due to the match timings.
