The MCA is one of the premier cricket stadiums in the country, which was designed by Michael Hopkins of Hopkins Architects. The seating capacity of Pune Cricket Stadium is 42,000, making it a huge venue. The first match at MCA Stadium was a T20I played between India and England on 20 December 2012.
