The World Cup-winning Indian Team Gets a Cheque for INR 125 crore from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah at Wankhede Stadium

The Indian team arrived at the Wankhede Stadium for yet another lavish function held in their honor after the wild revelries of the evening’s open-top bus parade along Marine Drive. Earlier, the World Cup-winning group had the honor of having a sincere conversation with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in Delhi after they arrived from Barbados

They were also overcome by the fervent and unrelenting devotion of the people crammed into every available space along Marine Drive. The crew saw the ardent devotion of onlookers and supporters during the open-top bus procession, who never stopped applauding as the bus slowly traveled through complete chaos from Nariman Point to the Wankhede Stadium, which was about a kilometer apart.

After arriving at the Wankhede, the Indian squad made a victory lap around the entire stadium, which was filled as soon as they arrived. The ardent passion of the audience was noticed by Rohit Sharma & Co. When the Indian players started showcasing their dance skills and breaking a leg to upbeat music and beats, the atmosphere became even more enjoyable and wholesome to see.

The most anticipated moment, though, was when head coach Rahul Dravid, legendary batter Virat Kohli, pace-bowling maestro Jasprit Bumrah, and local boy and captain Rohit Sharma were all interviewed and opened up to the passionate Wankhede audience.

After this, the squad received a check of INR 125 crore as an additional incentive, as promised by Shah and the BCCI in a recent tweet. This award was given to them in appreciation of their perseverance and hard work in breaking the 11-year streak of winning an ICC trophy.
