The IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah was nothing short of a money-making fair for cricketers. In the mega auction in Jeddah, IPL franchises pay a record-breaking amount of 639.15 crore INR for 182 players. Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Venkatesh Iyer were the top 3 most expensive players in the 2025 IPL mega auction. Rishabh was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for 27 crore, Shreyas Iyer joined Punjab Kings for 26.75 crore, and Kolkata Knight Riders bought back Venkatesh Iyer for 23.75 crore.
A total of 577 players across the world registered for the two-day mega event in Jeddah, but only 182 of them got an IPL contract. However, the majority of the registered players and sold players were from India. But Australia and South Africa also had a fair share.
