Who Won Yesterday Match T20 World Cup 2024: The West Indies have almost confirmed their place in the Super 8 from Group C after beating New Zealand by 13 runs in match 26 of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match between the West Indies and New Zealand took place at Brian Lara Stadium, where New Zealand decided to chase after winning the toss. This decision by the Kiwi captain was looking like an absolute masterstroke after the West Indies were restricted to 76/7 in 12.3 overs.
But the West Indian batter, Sherfane Rutherford, had other plans. Coming at No. 6, Rutherford swashbuckled all the Kiwi bowlers and took the West Indies to a fighting total of 149/9 in 20 overs. The 150-run target was not enough against a batting line-up that included Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, and Daryl Mitchell.
But the West Indian bowling unit bowled brilliantly and sent back five Kiwi batters for a score of 63 at the halfway point of the inning. From there, New Zealand was just trying to catch up to the momentum and be in the run chase. However, in the end, that was not enough, and New Zealand fell short of 13 runs off the target.
