Uganda T20 World Cup Squad 2024: Complete List of Team Players and Name

Uganda T20 World Cup Squad 2024: Uganda has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This T20 World Cup will become a milestone in Uganda’s cricket history as this is the first appearance of the senior team in the ICC event. Brian Masaba will be leading the Uganda T20 World Cup Squad 2024 in this historic event for Uganda cricket

The qualification of Uganda is a surprise, as they were the least favorites to qualify from the East African zone, where Zimbabwe and Kenya kind of seasoned teams are favorites to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024. But Uganda surprised everyone and defeated regional favorites Zimbabwe in their journey to qualify for the T20 World Cup. This was Uganda’s first-ever victory over a test-playing nation.

Brian Masaba is the skipper of this team, and his bowling partner Riazat Ali Shah is chosen as his deputy. Frank Nsubuga, a slow left-arm orthodox spinner, will be the oldest player on the team. His first appearance for Uganda in ICC events came in the 1997 ICC Trophy when he was just a 17-year-old boy.

He is not the only player making headlines in this Uganda T20 World Cup Squad 2024; his fellow spin bowling partner and all-rounder, Alpesh Ramjani, will also be a player to watch out for. He was nominated for the 2023 ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year for his brilliant performance in qualifiers, and now he is ready to continue in the same form in this T20 World Cup.

Another spinner on this team, Henry Ssenyondo, will be one of the most crucial players if Uganda wants to achieve something in this World Cup. Ssenyondo is coming off a strong 2023, taking 49 wickets in a calendar year.

Riazat Ali Shah and Dinesh Nakrani will lead the batting line for Uganda in this T20 World Cup, and Fred Achelam will keep the wickets for the team. Innocent Mwebaze and Ronald Lutaaya will be traveling reserves in this Uganda T20 World Cup squad.
