Rishabh Pant gets clean chit concerning his fitness to feature in the second test match against New Zealand. According to news published in the Indian Express, Rishabh Pant is declared fit to play the next test match in Pune. Rishabh got injured while keeping in the first test in Bengaluru. However, he did bat in the second inning and played a brilliant knock of 99 runs. In place of Pant, Dhruv Jurel kept the wickets in the 1st test match.
Pant got struck on the same knee that was operated on after his fatal car accident in December 2022. So it was expected that he might not play in the match, but Pant didnāt just bat but bailed out India from the precarious situation and kept the hopes alive.
During a Press Conference, Rohit Sharma commented on Rishabhās injury update that the team management wanted to be extra cautious when it came to Rishabhās knees because he had major surgeries a few months back after the fatal accident.Ā
āHeās had a massive operation on his leg, so we all know what he went through. Heās had a lot of minor surgeries, one big surgery on his knee, and he went through a lot of trauma, to be honest, in the last one and a half years. So, itās about being extra careful, not careful with him. When he was batting, he was not comfortable running. He was trying to launch the ball in the stands.ā Rohit said.
Considering Rishabhās injury, Jurel was expected to play in Pune. But now Rishabh is fully fit and set to play his part in Indiaās pending comeback.
The second test match of the India vs New Zealand Test Series is set to take place in Pune from October 24 to 28.Ā
