Afghanistan T20 Squad World Cup 2024: Complete List of Players Name

Afghanistan has named its T20 World Cup squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. The Afghanistan T20 squad is led by their superstar spinner, Rashid Khan. This Afghan side has many new faces and experienced campaigners for the upcoming cricket mega event.

Eight players from this Afghanistan squad play in the IPL for different franchises. Rashid Khan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen Ul Haq, Azmatullah Omarzai, Noor Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Gulbadin Naib, and Mohammad Nabi are all important players for their IPL teams.

This squad is full of all-rounders. Afghan selectors have selected a total of six all-rounders for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the national team. There are only four batters on this side who will play as pure batsmen. Otherwise, every member of this Afghanistan T20 side can bowl.

Afghanistan’s batting responsibilities will rely on the experienced and explosive opening pair of Najibullah Zadran and Rahmanlluhah Gurbaz. Mohammad Ishaq and Ibrahim Zadran are the other batters in this squad.

Afghanistan’s bowling department in this tournament was led by skipper and star spinner Rashid Khan. Noor Ahmad and Mujib Ur Rahman are also great spin-bowling threats for opposition batters. Fast bowling duties for Afghanistan will be filled by Fazalhaq Farooqi and Navin Ul Haq.

This Afghan team’s main strength relies on its all-rounders. This Afghanistan T20 squad has six all-rounders, and every one of them can turn the game in their favor on their own. Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi are the two best all-rounders, not just in this team but in world cricket as well. Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, Karim Janat, and Nangyal Kharoti are the other four all-rounder options included in this Afghanistan T20 squad.

The Afghanistan team has produced brilliant youngsters over time, and they are known for this. And they have continued this tradition by naming Nangyal Kharoti and Mohammad Ishaq in this T20 World Cup squad.

Nangyal Kahroti is an all-rounder who made his international debut in a match this year. He is a promising player who bowls an orthodox slow left-arm spin and bats with his left hand. Another youngster in this team is Mohammad Ishaq, who was part of the Afghanistan 2020 and 2022 U-19 World Cup squads.
