Canada T20 World Cup Squad 2024: Canada, which is making its debut in the T20 World Cup this year, has announced its 15-member squad. Canadian selectors have chosen an experienced squad with only five players out of 15 under 30 in this Canada T20 World Cup squad 2024.
37-year-old Pakistani-origin allrounder Saad Bin Zafar has been named captain of this squad. Along with him, top-order batter Aaron Johnson and left-arm seamer Kaleem Sana will be the pillars of this team.
Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton, Dilpreet Bajwa, Nikhil Dutta, and Rishi Joshi will represent the youth in the Canada T20 World Cup squad, as these are the only players under the age of 30 in the 15-member squad.
Both Kaleem Sana’s fast bowling and Aaron Johnson’s powerful hitting will be crucial at the top of the order when Canada is in the field. Also, Canada’s hope of winning on the biggest stage of cricket will depend heavily on the all-around abilities of Bin Zafar, Thaker, and Dilon Heyliger.

Canada will play its first T20 World Cup, although it has previously played World Cup games but that was in 50 overs format. In fact, Canada played its World Cup game in the second ODI World Cup in 1979. Overall, Canada has participated in four ODI World Cups so far: 1979, 2003, 2007, and 2011.
But this will be their first endeavor in the T20 World Cup, and they will start their endeavor against their neighbor and co-host of this tournament, the USA, in Dallas, Texas, on June 1 in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024.
