The First Batch of Indian Players to Leave For T20 World 2024  in The Upcoming Days

The recent news has come from the BCCI that the first Batch of Indian players to leave for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the upcoming days. The first batch carries half of the players from the Indian cricket team and they will leave on the 25th of May for New York with a bunch of staff, while the rest of the left-out team players will join them after the IPL final which is on the 26th of May 2024.

Earlier news was that the players of IPL teams who were not qualified for the playoffs should depart on May 21st for the World Cup but later there were changes in the plans of the departure schedule and now the first batch will be taking a flight on the 25th May. The second batch of players will only stay due to their playoff matches in the IPL and after the IPL final is over the rest of the team will also depart for the World Cup on the 27th of May.

Players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant will take a flight on the 25th of May just because their IPL teams were not qualified for the Playoffs but it will be beneficial for them to assess the conditions of the New York pitches. The Indian team has only one warmup match before the kickstart of the T20 World Cup which is on the 1st of June against Bangladesh and the first match of the World Cup for team India is on the 5th of June versus Ireland.

Earlier arrival will also provide many benefits for the team to acclimatize to different pitches and conditions of New York. This will also allow satisfactory time for the squad to diminish jet lag and have at slightest three to four quality net sessions, sometime recently the Bangladesh warm-up match.

Let’s take a look at Indian Squad for the T20 World Cup 2024:

Rohit Sharma ( C) Hardik Pandya (VC), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal,  Ravindra Jadeja, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj  Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Reserve players: Shubhaman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan.
