Rohit Sharma is Just three Victories Away from Branching Virat Kohli’s Test Captaincy Record…

India captain Rohit Sharma has the opportunity to break Virat Kohli‘s(ex-test Indian Captain) World Test Championship record with three victories in the forthcoming home series against New Zealand. Given India’s great home Test record, Rohit is well-positioned to better his predecessor’s performance in the forthcoming three-match series.

Rohit Sharma impressed with his leadership in the Test series against Bangladesh last month, but he struggled to make an impact with the bat. He is now only three wins away from becoming the most successful Indian captain in the World Test Championship, overtaking Virat Kohli’s record.

Virat Kohli led India in 22 World Test Championship matches, winning 14 and losing seven, with one match ending in a draw. He finished his captaincy with an incredible 63.63% win percentage in the competition.

In comparison, Rohit Sharma has captained India in 18 Tests, winning 12 and losing four, with two matches ending in draws. His win percentage is a remarkable 66.66, surpassing Kohli’s. If Rohit wins three matches against New Zealand, he will have 15 victories in 21 Tests, more than Virat as test captain in the WTC.

If India wins the series 3-0 against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma will surpass Sourav Ganguly to become India’s fourth-most successful Test captain. MS Dhoni is the most successful test captain of India, followed by Virat Kohli, Mohammed Azharuddin, and Saurav Ganguly.
