In a recent development related to the Delhi Capitals and Rishabh Pant’s story, Rishabh might enter the 2025 IPL auction. According to a report published in the Times of India, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are highly interested in Rishabh Pant to fill in a wicketkeeper’s place in their team. Pant, who has been leading the Delhi Capitals for a while, has played only for one team in his entire IPL career: the Delhi Capitals.
The Times of India report says that Royal Challengers Bangalore is the most interested franchisee to bring in the explosive wicketkeeper-batsman. Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings are also exploring the possibility of adding Rishabh Pant to their squad.
However, this report by the Times of India is contradictory to what Delhi Capitals’ co-owner Parth Jindal had said on the retention players list of Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2025 season.
“Yes, we have to retain. We have some very good players in our team. The rules have just come out, so after discussing with GMR and our director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, decisions will be made.”
“Rishabh Pant will be retained. We also have Axar Patel, who is excellent, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, all very good players in our team.” Parth Jindal said while giving an interview to the IANS.
