In the Hundred Men’s Competition 2024, Kieron Pollard, the legendary West Indies T20 player, has thrashed Rashid Khan for five straight sixes. Pollard, who was playing for the Southern Brave, made sure his team crossed the finish line with a late charge as they chased a difficult goal of 127 in 100 balls against Trent Rocket.
Southern Brave were battling at 78/6 after 76 balls before Pollard destroyed one of the best spinners of this generation. Pollard became one of only a few batsmen to hit five sixes in succession against Rashid Khan.
Pollard was struggling at 6 off 14 balls, but in just five balls, he completely changed the game. He hit the first one over mid-wicket, the next two over long-off, the fourth one went over mid-wicket, and the fifth one went over long-off. Rashid Khan’s economy was totally destroyed in the span of five balls, as he conceded 40 runs off his 20 deliveries.
The Hundred has struggled to establish its reputation among cricket fans throughout the world, and to popularize this league worldwide, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recently met IPL team owners seeking investments. However, performances like this can assist in increasing the Hundred’s appeal.

Pollard was unimpressed with the circumstances his team had created prior to his rescue. “Hopefully some lessons learnt and we won’t put ourselves in such a situation next time around,” he remarked following the game.
With this victory, Southern Brave maintained their second-place standing in the standings, four points ahead of Trent Rockets.
Pollard is a new addition to the elite list of great power-hitters who have accomplished the feat; the list includes the likes of Chris Lynn of Australia and Pollard’s fellow countryman Andre Russell.
The two instances of five straight sixes that Indian fans might remember most are Dimitri Mascarenhas off Yuvraj Singh’s bowling and Rinku Singh against Yash Dayal.
