Ireland defeated South Africa by 10 runs in the 2nd T20I match in Abu Dhabi of the ongoing T20I series. This is the first-ever victory of Ireland over South Africa in the shortest format of the game. The match had taken place at the beautiful Sheik Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where South Africa decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Ireland put up a great show after being invited to bat first by posting its highest total ever against South Africa in T20Is—195/6. In response, South Africa also got a brilliant start, but the Proteas batters were unable to capitalize on that as they were strangled by the Irish bowling in the death overs. In the end, South Africa fell 10 runs short of the target, and Ireland registered their first-ever win against South Africa in T20Is.
