ICC Ranking Updates: Hardik Back to the Top, Sanju Gains Five Places, Tilak Achieved His Career Best RankingĀ

On Wednesday, November 20, the ICC updated its weekly ranking charts, in which Indian players gained significant numbers courtesy of their performances in the recently concluded SA-IND T20I series. Hardik Pandya has returned to the top of the T20I all-rounders list, and Tilak Varma made his first appearance in the top 10 T20I batters list.Ā

Thanks to his performances against South Africa, Hardik passed Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and England’s Liam Livingstone at the top of the rankings. Hardik last topped the T20I all-rounders list a few months ago, following India’s T20 World Cup triumph over Proteas in June.Ā Ā

After his consecutive and undefeated hundreds, Tilak, who was Player of the Series too, in the recently concluded South Africa Tour, vaulted up 69 spots among the batters. After Travis Head and Phil Salt, Tilak is currently ranked third. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav is right behind him.

In addition to bagging two ducks between the two hundred, Sanju Samson, the other batter with two hundred in the series, moved up 17 spots to 22nd. With eight wickets against South Africa, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh gained three ranks and moved up to ninth among bowlers.Ā Ā

Adam Zampa, who took six wickets in the Pakistan T20I Series, was one of the bowlers that improved the most, moving up five spots to third position, just behind Wanindu Hasaranga and Adil Rashid. After finishing the three T20I games against Pakistan with four wickets, Nathan Ellis jumped up a noteworthy 15 spots to 11th place.Ā

For South Africa, Heinrich Klaasen rose six spots but was still outside the top 50 at 59th, while Tristan Stubbs rose three spots to get to 23rd.

Following the T20I series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Kusal Mendis moved up three spots to joint 12th place. Maheesh Theekshana moved up six places to sixth in ODIs, pushing Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj down one spot each to seventh and eighth, respectively.
