England Announced the Squad for the Pakistan tour, Ben Stokes Made a Comeback, and Lawrence got Dropped

England have announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Pakistan tour. Skipper Ben Stokes made a comeback for the ICC World Test Championship games against Pakistan in October.

Ben Stokes’ return after recovering from a hamstring injury has improved England’s preparations for the upcoming test series against Pakistan. The English Test captain is currently recovering from a hamstring injury that took him out of the home series against Sri Lanka

Opener Zak Crawley, who suffered a finger fracture in July, also rejoins the team after a two-month recuperation period. Brydon Carse and Jordan Cox, two uncapped players, have also been selected for the tour, and bowler Josh Hull, who made his debut in the last Test match against Sri Lanka, has been kept for his first international tour.

Spinner Jack Leach, who will play for the first time since the first test in India in January of this year, rejoins the squad alongside fellow spinner Rehan Ahmed, who earned his red-ball debut in Karachi during the most recent Pakistan trip in December 2022. Shoaib Bashir is also included in the squad to bolster England’s spin attack.

England has added eight players from the 2022 squad, including Rehan Ahmed, Harry Brook, Zack Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes, who won the 2022 test series 3-0 against Pakistan.

The first Test match of this series is scheduled to begin on October 7. The venues for the three-match series have yet to be decided, with the PCB expecting to do so later this week.
