The Mumbai Indians have announced their retained players list for IPL 2025, and this list includes the names of MI’s “Big Four”—Rohit, Bumrah, Hardik, and Surya. Apart from their “Big Four,” the Mumbai Indians have also retained their young prodigy, Tilak Verma. Among the MI’s Retained Players 2025 list, Bumrah is getting the biggest paycheck, and Surya & Hardik are getting the same amount. Both are the second-highest earners in retained players. Rohit is getting a slightly lower salary than SKY and Pandya. Tilak Verma is getting the lowest amount in the list of retained players by Mumbai Indians.
List of MI Retained Players 2025
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma’s retention is not a surprise, but given the reports before MI announced the retained players list for the IPL 2025 mega auction, it was expected that Rohit may switch his team coming to this IPL season; which was fair so, considering Rohit Sharma’s fan’s backlash over handing MI’s captaincy to Hardik Pandya. But now the muck on the water has been settled down, and Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians have announced by signing the retention pact that everything is okay between them and Rohit is all set to play as a player under Hardik Pandya.
Rohit Sharma’s Salary in IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians has given Rohit Sharma 16.30 crore INR to retain him for the 2025 IPL.
Jasprit Bumrah
Just like Rohit Sharma, now Jasprit Burmah has also become the epitome of Mumbai’s team in the IPL. Mumbai Indians brought “Jassi” to one of the grandest stages in the world of cricket to showcase his talent and capabilities in 2013. Bumrah started his IPL career with MI with a salary of just 10 lac INR, but with time, he proved his worth by winning five IPL titles for MI. Now, Jasprit Bumrah has become the poster boy of MI, who has given MI fans countless moments to cherish. In his IPL career, Bumrah played 133 matches for MI so far; he took 165 wickets with a remarkable strike rate of 18.50.
Jasprit Bumrah’s Salary in IPL 2025
Jasprit Bumrah is Mumbai Indian’s first retention choice, so it’s quite obvious that he will be receiving the highest salary among the retained players. With a staggering amount of 18 crore INR, MI keeps Bumrah intact in their squad.
Hardik Pandya
Hardik is the captain of the team and one of the most crucial components of MI’s successful decade of 2010, so it is not a surprise for the cricket fraternity that Mumbai retained him. Hardik Pandya is another star that got its first chance to shine into the sky of cricket because of the Mumbai Indians. Hardik started his IPL journey for MI in 2015 when Mumbai bought him for just 10 lac INR. Since then, Hardik has taken the match-finishing responsibility for MI and delivered in crucial moments, to help Mumbai win four IPL trophies in his seven-year stint in the team, until becoming GT’s captain in 2022.
Hardik Pandya’s Salary in IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians brought back Pandya from Gujarat Titans for 15 crore INR last season, and now they have given him 16.35 crore INR to stay in the team for upcoming IPL seasons.
Surya Kumar Yadav
In the last four to five IPL seasons, SKY has emerged as the best batsman for the Mumbai Indians. So it is expected that MI management is not going to let anyone touch their “MR. 360.” Surya has been the “MR. Dependable” of MI since 2018 when they brought him back from KKR for 3.2 crore INR. In his second spell at MI, Surya has played 95 matches and scored 2986 runs with 2 centuries and 23 half-centuries. During this time, there is no season that Surya has scored less than 300 runs.
Surya Kumar Yadav’s Salary in IPL 2025
Mumbai has given Surya Kumar Yadav 16.35 crore INR, the same amount they have given to their captain for the 2025 IPL.
Tilak Verma
Tilak Verma is the only player apart from the “Big Four” of Mumbai Indians that they have retained from their current squad ahead of the 2025 mega auction, and he deservedly earned his place among the retained players list of MI for the 2025 IPL. In the 2022 IPL mega auction, MI bought Tilak for 1.7 crore, which was a staggering amount for a youngster like him. But Tilak proved that MI put their bet on the right player, as he averaged 39.86 in 38 matches he played so far in his IPL career. Since making his debut in 2022, Tilak Verma has not produced an IPL season where he hasn’t scored less than 340 runs. However, Tilak hasn’t impressed much with the ball so far in his stint with MI but he is a good bowling option to have as a part-timer.
In a Nutshell, Tilak Verma along with Hardik Pandya can prove to be instrumental in maintaining the playing XI’s balance given their abilities with both bat and bowl, which gives the captain a choice to play an extra batter or bowler.
Tilak Verma’s Salary in IPL 2025
Tilak Verma is retained by Mumbai Indians for 8 crore INR ahead of the 2025 IPL auction.
With these five retentions and one RTM card, MI is expected to maintain the core of its current squad, so that they don’t need to build up a team from zero again. With the retained players and probably Ishan Kishan or Dewald Bravis courtesy of RTM; Mumbai will need just three or four more players of their retained players’ caliber in their squad to end their four-year-long title drought.
