England registered a 7-wicket win in Barbados to go 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. The 2nd T20I match of the West Indies-England T20I Series took place at Kensington Oval, where Jos Buttler decided to bowl after winning the toss. The English bowlers proved their captain decision right by reducing the Caribbean team to 3/35 in 3.5 overs.
West Indies never recovered from these early setbacks and kept losing wickets at regular intervals to finish the innings at 158/8 in 20 overs.
The score of West Indies would be around 120 to 130 if it were not for Caribbean skipper Powel and Romario Shepherd. These two batters showed resistance in the end to take West Indies to a respectable total by scoring 43 off 41 and 22 off 12, respectively. Came to chase a tricky total of 159, England off to a worst start that they could expect, as Phil Salt went for a “golden duck” on the very first ball of England’s inning.
But after that, Captain Buttler and Will Jacks joined forces to wreak havoc on the Windies bowlers. Butller and Jacks put a 129-run stand together in 12 overs to kill even “.001%” chances of the West Indies to come back in the game. This partnership was broken when Jack was dismissed by Shepherd on the first ball of the 13th over. But that wicket came too late to rescue West Indies, because after the 2nd wicket’s partnership, the result of the match became a mere formality, which England fulfilled in the 15th over by loss of only three wickets.
