Australia defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in Hobart to clean-sweep Pakistan 3-0 in the three-game T20I series. Pakistan elected to bat in Hobart after winning the toss but again failed with the bat like the previous two games. Babar Azam and Haseebullah Khan are the only batters from Pakistan’s top order who batted with a positive intent and showed some resilience. Came to bat first, Pakistan were off to a great start as they were cruising comfortably by scoring 58 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay. Pakistan’s second wicket fell on the score of 61 in 6.5 overs, and after that Pakistan faced another batting collapse, losing 8 wickets for the next 56 runs. Pakistan was bundled out on 117 runs in 18.1 overs. Babar was the top scorer for Pakistan with 41 runs off 28 balls. Apart from Babar, Haseebullah (24 off 19) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (16 off 12) were the major contributors with the bat.
The odds are always low of defending the target of 118 in T20Is. So it was fixed that Australia would win this match; the only thing that mattered was when and how. But Australia took no time to wind up the formalities and chase the target in just 11.2 overs, despite losing openers in the powerplay for just 30 runs. Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis hammered the Pakistani bowlers to thump Pakistan by 7 wickets.
