The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Player Retainer ship list for the 2024-25 Team India (Senior Men) cricket team on Monday. The player retainership for 2024-25 started from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025 on Monday.

What are BCCI Central Contracts, and when did they start?

The BCCI Central Contracts are the player retainership agreement between the BCCI and some selected Indian Cricketers, where players are given a fixed amount according to their performance, consistency, and the value of their game in the national setup.

The BCCI Central Contract setup was started in 2004 to provide a structure in the game and some financial assistance to the players. These contracts are divided into four different grades, that is A+, A, B, and C. Each grade has its importance in the contract.

The A+ category is the best and top-class category in the central contract, comprising the list of the best players of the Indian cricket team who act as the spine of the Indian National Cricket team. The last category which is C category in the Central Contracts is the lowest, which defines the rising stars of the team.
