Shami remained the hot topic throughout the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with the hope that Shami will recover soon and be part of the Australia Tests.

Rohit Sharma Indian Cricket Team Captain was asked third time in a month about Shami’s status, he claimed that “it was high time that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) provided an update on India quickly.”

“Shami bowled 43 overs in the Ranji Trophy match for Bengal against Madhya Pradesh in November, Following this, he played in all nine games of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he also engaged in additional bowling sessions on the sidelines to build his bowling volume to get ready for the Test matches.” the BCCI said in a statement.
