Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: AUS vs IND, 3rd Test Match Pitch Report, Where to Watch, and Live Streaming Information

India and Australia will lock horns at the Gabba (Brisbane) in the third test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy to get a decisive advantage in the five-match series. Right now, the series is at the level with the scoreline of 1-1 after Australia thumped India in the second test match of the series in Adelaide. Australia will try to capitalize on the momentum they got after the Pink Ball test. On the other side, the Indian team will regroup and overcome the humiliation of Adelaide to level the series and a place in the WTC final.

In this series so far, India’s batting order has let them down in the crunch moments. In the four innings India played so far the BGT 2024-25, they managed to get past 200 .The seaming and bouncy tracks have once again proved to be a graveyard for start studded batting line up and reminded old demons.

However, this doesn’t mean that the Australian batting order is in good shape; the Kangaroos are also struggling with their form with the bat, except for Travis Head. Travis is the only batter who has shown confidence with the bat against the lethal Indian pace attack.

Now that the BGT caravan has moved to Gabba, both India and Australia have to take some strong steps to strengthen their batting line-up. Because at Gabba, teams need a strong batting line-up that can cope with the pace bowling maestros like Bumrah and Starc on a wicket that is one of the paciest and bounciest pitches in the world.

In short, the team that batted well and took the first-inning lead will likely win the third test match in Brisbane.

Brisbane Pitch Report: Australia vs India 3rd Test, Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

According to the most recent photos, the pitch at the Gabba in Brisbane seems to be greener than usual. It is expected that fast bowlers will benefit greatly from the grassy pitch on the first day, and this is not the story of just Day 1; the seamers are supposed to dominate the entire Test match because the weather forecast for Brisbane says that the sky will remain cloudy and conditions will be overcast through the five days of the third test.

The surface in Brisbane is expected to offer seam more pace and bounce to pacers than the Adelaide Oval. As a result, the batters will face more difficult conditions as they have to work hard and grind in the middle to score runs. As the game goes on, the surface may get marginally better for batting if the sun comes out. Although there may be slight hints of spin for spinners,But overall the pitch will remain helpful to fast bowlers throughout the game.

The Gabba pitch curator David Sandurski said that the Brisbane pitch behaves differently at different times of the year. So, he is not sure how exactly the pitch will behave.

“Different times of year definitely makes it different, it can be a slightly different pitch. Pitches later in the season might have a bit more wear and tear while ones early in the season usually are a bit fresher and might have a bit more in them. Generally speaking, we still prepare the pitch the exact same way every time to get the same good carry, pace and bounce that the Gabba is known for. We are just trying to make a traditional Gabba wicket like we do each year.”
