South Africa vs India Full Match Scorecard 2nd T20I, Gqeberha, 10 November 2024 

South Africa leveled the ongoing series 1-1 by defeating India in the 2nd T20i in Gqeberha; South Africa won this match by 3 wickets. South Africa again won the toss and decided to ball, but this time, SA bowlers proved his Captains decision right by bowlers reducing India to  3/15 in just four overs. At the end of the powerplay, India was 34/3, and the hero of the 1st T20I, Sanju Samson, was gone for a duck. After that, Axar Patel and Tilak Verma tried to steady the ship and added 30 runs together, but Tilak was dismissed by Markram when the team’s total was 45.

After that, Axar went on the team’s score of 70, and after a few overs, Rinku was dismissed by Peter to reduce India to 87/6 in 15.2 overs. From there, Hardik Pandya took responsibility on his shoulders and scored 39 runs to take India to a respectable total of 124/6 in 20 overs. Came to chase a modest total of 125, South Africa got a decent start, as they added 34 runs for 2 wickets in powerplay. However, after the powerplay, Indian spinners, especially Varun Chakravarthy, turned back the game in India’s favor by dismissing Jansen, Klassen, and Miller in quick succession. 

In 12.2 overs, South Africa was struggling with a score of 66/6 thanks to Varun. But from there, Tristan Stubbs got the support of Coetzee, who was in superb form with the bat in the first T20I. In St. George’s Park, Coetzee continued his form with the bat and played a match-winning cameo of 19 off 9 before Stubss fulfilled the formalities in the last ball of the 19th over. Tristan Stabbus was named player of the match for his match-winning knock of 47 off 41 balls, and in doing so, Stubbs held on to one end that gave breathing space to South Africa during the mini-collapse.
