ICC Ranking Updates: Joe Root Leads the Test Batting Ranking, Pant Overtakes Kohli

The ICC updated its weekly ranking charts on Wednesday, 24 October 2024, which includes plenty of changes because of the ongoing test series between India-New Zealand and Pakistan-England

India’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant moved to sixth place in the latest ICC Test Batter’s Ranking. Yashaswi Jaiswal is the top-ranked Indian test batter who maintained his fourth position in the ICC Test Batting Rankings. Virat Kohli slips down one place to be ranked eighth, while Rohit Sharma slips down two places to the fifteenth position.

Joe Root maintained his top spot, Kane Williamson is at number two, and Harry Brook retained his third position in the ICC Test batting rankings.

In the ICC test bowling ranking, Jasprit Bumrah is still number one, and Ashwin is also at number two. Ravindra Jadeja is the third Indian bowler in the ICC Test bowling rankings, placing seventh with Sri Lanka’s Prabhat Jayasuriya. New Zealand’s pacer Matt Henry gained two places to ninth place in the recently updated ICC rankings thanks to his performance against India in the Bengaluru test.

In men’s ODI batting rankings, Babar Azam, Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Harry Tractor are holding the top positions. In the ODI bowling rankings, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj is leading the chart, followed by Rashid Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Adam Zampa, and Josh Hazelwood.
