India and Pakistan clashed for the first time in a test on 16 October 1952 in Delhi, which India won by an innings margin.

The 1960s and 1970s time of Indo-Pak test rivalry witnessed highly competitive test matches. From 28 November 1952 to 16 October 1978, during this period, India and Pakistan played 13 tests, and all of them ended in a draw. The 1990s was the most intense decade for the cricket rivalry point of view between these two countries. There are some extraordinary moments in this rivalry that can never be achieved by someone again, and one such incident was Anil Kumble’s 10-wicket haul against Pakistan in the 1999 Delhi test.
