The First Face Off ( 1988 – 2000 ) 

1988 –  The first encounter between both teams occurred in Wills Asia Cup 1988 in Chattogram. India won the toss and elected to field first, Bangladesh managed to score 99/10 only because of the early collapse of their batting order. On the other side, India comfortably chased down the target in the 26th over and registered their first win in the 1988 Asia Cup.  

1990 –  India and Bangladesh again face off against each other in the 1990 Asia Cup Well, it was the 1st Asia Cup match where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first and scored a fighting total of 170/6, where Bengal Tiger “Farque Ahmed” had played a brilliant innings of 57 runs. Moreover, India’s sixer king “Navjot Singh Sidhu” makes balls fly away from the ground and scores 104* runs to win the match.

2000 –  In the 2000 Asia Cup, batting first, Bangladesh scored 249/6  with the help of Habibul Bashar’s half-century and led India to give a fight back but Saurav Ganguly ( Dada) has other plans to do so. Ganguly scored a fiery innings of  135 runs and won the match for India comfortably bagging the Man of the Match award (MOM). 

Awakening of Rivarly In All Formats ( 2000 – 2010 ) 

2000 – India National Cricket Team vs Bangladesh National Cricket Team Timeline mentions the glimpse of the first test match played between both teams. The match took place in Dhaka, where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first and scored a massive total of 400/10  in their first innings but failed to impress in the second. Later India scored 429/10 in their first innings and in the second 64/1 which led India to a comfortable win with an all-rounding performance of Sunil Joshi 5/142 wickets and 92 runs.  

2003 –  The TVS Triangular series was going on between India, South Africa, and Bangladesh, where the first match was between India and Bangladesh, where India defeated Bangladesh brutally by 200 runs and made them all out on 76 runs.  

2007 –  In the 2007 ODI World Cup, batting first India scored a 191 fighting total for Bangladesh Saurav Ganguly was the only batter who managed to score a half-century, and the rest of the batters not contributed much to the scorecard. Moreover, Bangladesh easily won the match by 5 wickets and mentioned their first victory over Men in Blue in the ODI format by making them disqualified from the tournament.

2009 –  The first T20 encounter took place between both teams in the 2009 T20 World Cup, where India was the strong contender for winning the T20 World Cup. Ind won the toss and elected to bat first, and scored 180/5 in 20 overs, where Gautam Gambhir scored an impressive half-century ( 50). Later Bangladesh also gave a great fightback to the Men in Blue but still lost the match by 25 runs because of the magical spell of Pragyan Ojha 4/21.

Dominance of Men In Blue ( 2010 –  2022 ) 

2012 – The 2012 Asia Cup will be unforgettable for any Indian fans because this year Master Blaster “Sachin Tendulkar” achieved his 100th century record in International Cricket by scoring 114 runs. Although India lost the match, still it regarded as the most notable match in the history of cricket.  

2016 –  Looking for the nail-biting matches, then look out for the 2016 T20 World Cup match, where batting first Ind scored 146/ 7 posing as the fighting total in T20s but the game had just begun when Bangladesh was easily chasing down the target and ready to come up to win the match, then it comes to the Hardik Pandya last ball when it needs 2 runs in 1 ball. The match was tense and at the last ball, the batsman missed the ball, skipper Dhoni showed his athleticism and ran out the batsman to win the match by 1 run. 

2018 –  Another nail-biting match happened between Bangladesh and India in the Nidhas Trophy 2018, where batting first Bangladesh scored a decent score of 166/8 in 20 overs, later when India’s batting order collapsed in the early overs, Bangladesh thought to win the match comfortably but the finisher Dinesh Kartik led the match till the last over when it was needed 5 runs in 1 ball and at the last ball Kartik hits a huge six to seal the victory.

2022 –  In 2022, the year was too great for the Indian batsman because of the ODI series of Ind and Ban, Indian left-handed batsman Ishan Kisan scored his first double hundred 210 in 138 balls and became the fourth Indian to score a double hundred in ODI an the fastest one.
