Who Won Yesterday Match T20 World Cup 2024: Afghanistan created history by reaching the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating Bangladesh by a margin of 8 runs (DLS Method) in the last match of the Super 8 stage. This match took place at the Arnos Vale Stadium, where Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. But Afghan batters did not play as per the expectations of their captain when he decided to bat first.
Though it was a smart move considering the high probability of rain’s interference in the game. Afghanistan posted just 115/5 runs on the scoreboard, which initially was not looking enough to stop Bangladesh from crushing the Afghan dream of reaching the first-ever semifinal of a cricket world cup. But Afghanistan’s bowlers decided to fight till the last ball, and they fought brilliantly. Rain interrupted the game on various occasions during Bangladesh’s innings, which resulted in an over-deduction.
Now Bangladesh needed 114 runs in 19 overs, but this small target proved enough to defeat Bangladesh. No Bangladeshi batsman showed any intent to stay at the crease except Liton Das, who fought till the end and took the Bengal Tigers just 8 runs short of the target, but in the end, he fell short of partners and remained not out on one end.
