India 

India was the first team to enter in the T20 world cup winners list. Team India was the winner of the first T20 World Cup, which was played in the year 2007 in South Africa from September 11 to 24. Twelve teams participated in this World Cup; 10 were test-playing nations at the time; the other two teams were Kenya and Scotland, who entered this tournament as the finalists of 2007 WCL Division One.

Team India won the 2007 T20 World Cup by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in the final by just 5 runs. Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi was chosen player of the series, and his teammate Umar Gul was the highest wicket taker in this World Cup. Australia’s destructive opener, Matthew Hayden, was the leading run scorer in the 2007 T20 World Cup with 265 runs.

Pakistan 

Pakistan entered the T20 world cup winners list by winning the 2009 T20 World Cup. Pakistan won the 2009 T20 world cup by 8 wickets against Sri Lanka. This T20 World Cup was hosted by England in June 2009. The 2014 T20 World Cup was won by Sri Lanka, who defeated India in the final by 6 wickets. This T20 World Cup was held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6, 2014.
