The women’s cricket teams from Ireland and the West Indies will come to India in December and January to play white-ball matches. As part of the 2022-2025 Future Tours Programme (FTP), India will face the West Indies in three T20 Internationals in Navi Mumbai and three One-Day Internationals in Vadodara next month.
In January 2025, India will host Ireland at Rajkot for three ODIs. This will be the first series played against India since 2006 and the bilateral visit by Ireland women to India.
December 22, 24, and 27 are the dates for ODIs, and December 15, 17, and 19 are the dates for T20Is against the West Indies. The dates of Ireland’s three One-Day International matches are January 10, 12, and 15. Both ODI series will take place during the 2022–2025 ICC Women’s Championship.
The hosts (India) started preparing for the ODI World Cup with an ODI series against New Zealand in Ahmedabad, which they won 2-1, immediately following the T20 World Cup in October.
The next ODI World Cup is scheduled to take place in India the following year. Before the West Indies series, they will play three ODIs against Australia in December in Brisbane and Perth.
India’s most recent visit to Vadodara was for an ODI series against South Africa in 2019. After 14 years, Rajkot will host the Indian women’s team. The last game India played was against the West Indies in January 2011.
Last time they met West Indies visited India for a white-ball series in 2016. Eventually, they lost the ODIs 0-3, while they won T20Is 3-0.
On the other hand, Ireland so far has played 12 ODIs against India so far, and all of them ended in defeat. India triumphed by five runs in the 2023 T20 World Cup in the recent meeting of both teams.
