Prabhsimran And Iyer Cruise PBKS to a Fantastic Win Over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025

Punjab Kings cruise to a fantastic 8-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 13th match of IPL 2025, held in Lucknow. Thanks to Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer’s batting the score of 171 proved to be short for Punjab. Nehal Wadhera also made a great contribution to the winning of the Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, on the pitch of Ekana Stadium, LSG managed to make 171/7. PBKS chased the target of 177/2 in 16.2 overs.

LSG Opener’s Story:

As PBKS won the toss and chose to bowl first, Lucknow Super Giants earned batting in the first inning of the match. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh were the opening batsmen for LSG. Markram scored 28 runs in 18 balls with 1 six and 4 boundary hits. Nicolas Pooran and Ayush Badoni, alongside Markram, came out to be the top three run scorers in the LSG’s innings. 

Nicolas Pooran scored 44 runs in 30 balls with 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. Whereas, Abdul Samad scored 27 runs in 10 balls with 2 boundary hits and 2 sixes, and Ayush Badoni scored 41 runs in 33 balls with 1 boundary hit and 3 sixes. These 3 batsman helped LSG to recover from losing the regular wickets. 

Prabhsimran and Shreyas Iyer’s Fantastic Performance in the Match:

In the second innings, when Punjab Kings came out for the batting, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh came on the pitch as opening batsmen. Priyansh Arya scored 8 runs off 9 balls, hitting 1 boundary. Prabhsimran scored a half-century in the match with 69 runs in 34 balls with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. He was the top-scoring batsman of the match. 

Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera have also made a great contribution to the success of the Punjab Kings. Shreyas Iyer is the second top scorer for Punjab in the match. He also scored a half-century with 52* runs in 30 balls with 3 boundaries and 4 sixes. Nehal Wadhera played in the end, scoring 43 runs from 25 balls with 3 boundaries and 4 sixes. 

After this fantastic win, the Punjab Kings will play their next IPL match against the Rajasthan Royals on 5th April 2025; meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants will play their next IPL match against the Mumbai Indians on 4th April 2025.
