Is Ricky Ponting Going to Be India’s New Head Coach?

The former Australia cricket team captain and one of the great batsmen, Ricky Ponting, has revealed that he has been approached by the BCCI to be the head coach of the Indian team after Rahul Dravid’s period is over.

Ponting has completed his seventh season as coach of the Delhi Capitals. The former Australian captain had blended fortunes in this year’s competition, with his side losing out for the playoffs by a slight margin.

Despite having enjoyed coaching spells within the IPL with Mumbai and Delhi and filling in as Australia‘s national T20I coach on an intervals premise within the past, Ponting has so far stood up to the encouragement to require on the rigors of a high-profile national group on a full-time premise.

Now BCCI has approached Ricky Ponting to be the head coach of India’s team just after Rahul Dravid leaves the team after the T20 World Cup 2024. Ponting is counted as one of the greats of the game, and now he has also been considered an incredible coach.

In an interview, Ponting also spoke about some names like Gautam Gambhir, Stephen Fleming, and many others that he has seen in the cast of India’s Head Coach, but still, Ricky Ponting has shown not much interest in being part of Men in Blue and said it’s different from my lifestyle.
