BCCI changed Ind vs Ban 2024 T20I series schedule; the 1st T20I from Dharamshala has been moved

The BCCI has changed the schedule of the upcoming India vs Bangladesh T20I series. The first T20 International between India and Bangladesh, which was initially scheduled to take place in Dharamsala, will now take place in Gwalior, according to Cricbuzz. As per the press release from the board, the sites had to be changed because of “upgrades and renovation work being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in the dressing rooms.”

The match is still scheduled for October 6 and will mark the debut of an international match at the recently constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. This will be the first international game played in Gwalior since Sachin Tendulkar’s miraculous inning of 200* against South Africa in an ODI.

There is also a location change for the first and second T20Is for the England series. While the dates are the same (January 22 and 25, respectively), the opening match will now be played in Kolkata rather than Chennai. The second T20I will take place in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, which was originally set to host the series opener.

“The venue change was necessitated following a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal regarding their prior Republic Day commitments and obligations,” according to the BCCI.
