IND vs ENG 3rd T20I Match Pitch Report 2025: Where to Watch, and Live Streaming Information

The second match between India and England ended with India defeating the visitors by 2 wickets. After winning the 1st T20I in Kolkata, India proved its prowess in the shortest format of the game again by registering a hard-fought win against England in the 2nd T20I in Chennai. Giving some relief to anxious cricket fans after the Indian cricket team‘s recent struggles in ODI and Test, Suryakumar-led Men in Blue is on the run to salvage some pride as India leads the series 2-0

India, who won the toss and elected to bowl first, chased a 166-run target. Getting the invitation to bat first on a slow surface of Chepauk, Phil Salt and Ben Duckett failed to provide England a solid start as the English opening pair partnered for just 6 runs. Despite England’s poor beginning, Jos Buttler attempted to stretch the game on his shoulders and registered 45 runs until he was dismissed by Tilak Verma in the 10th over.  Both Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone were dismissed at 13 runs each, followed by Jamie Smith’s 22 runs. Brydon Carse’s struggle to 31 runs came to an end with England’s total at 137 for 8 wickets.

Came to chase a modest total of 166, India didn’t get a decent start as well; as Abhishek was sent back to the pavilion by Mark Wood when the team’s total was 15. Just six balls later, India’s second opener Samson also got out. However, Tilak, who came to bat after Abhishek’s dismissal showed a great fighting intent when English bowlers were all over Indian batting. Tilak is the only batter who came up with answers to English bowlers’ delivery. Apart from Tilak, Sundar is the only batter who had some mark on the game. In the second ball of the last over, India pulled off a run chase of 166 with Tilak Verma’s 72 runs not out.

Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium Pitch Report: IND vs ENG 3rd T20I Match Pitch Report 2025

The pitch at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Khanderi, Rajkot is favorable for batters, offering them a flat surface perfect for strokeplay. On the other hand, the pacers might need to use variations like slower balls and cutters to challenge the batters. As the game progresses, spinners could gain prominence with turns and bounces.

Remarkably, the pitch has been recorded as advantageous to the team batting first, stressing the significance of winning the toss for calculated dominance. Adding pacers to the team will be profitable for Team India in case they bowl first on Tuesday.
