The BCCI announced the schedule for India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, which will start on July 27 and feature 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
This tour’s first game (1st T20 match of a 3-match series) was supposed to take place on July 26, but it will now take place on July 27 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The next two matches of the T20 series will take place at the same venue on July 28 and July 30.
The ODIs, which were originally slated to begin on August 1, will now begin on August 2, with the remaining matches taking place on August 4 and August 7, all at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
This will be India’s first white-ball bilateral visit to the island nation since 2021, when Shikhar Dhawan led a second-string team, with Rahul Dravid serving as the interim coach.
According to some reports, experienced players including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will rest for this tour. This tour of India will be the first challenge for the newly appointed head coaches, Gautam Gambhir and Sanath Jayasuriya.
Gautam Gambhir has taken responsibility as head of India recently, and Sanath Jayasuriya was appointed as the interim coach of Sri Lanka after Chris Silverwood stepped down.
