The selection committee of BCCI has named the 15-member squad for India’s Zimbabwe tour for the T20 series in the upcoming month. The announced squad is a young squad that includes many youngsters who have gotten their maiden call for Team India. The team will be led by the future of Indian cricket, Shubhman Gill, who is counted as the future captain of India in all formats by cricket pundits.
Apart from Gill, this squad includes the youngsters who performed well in the IPL 2024. Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Nitish Reddy, and Tushar Deshpande are all rewarded for their exceptional performances in this year’s IPL. Abhishek Sharma smashed 484 runs in IPL 2024 for SRH, Riyan Parag has metamorphosed himself and become the most important batsman in the RR’s batting line in this year’s IPL, and he finished third in the race for the orange cap. Tushar Deshpande scalped 17 wickets in 13 matches for CSK in the 2024 IPL season. Nitish Reddy put in a great all-round performance for SRH in this year’s IPL with 303 runs and 3 wickets.
Yashashwi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are also included in this squad, and these two are the only players who have also been included in the current T20 world-cup-playing squad of Team India. Dhruv Jurel is also included in the team as the second wicketkeeper. Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Washington Sundar, and Khaleel Ahmed are other important names that are included in India’s squad for Zimbabwe Tour in 2024.

Team India will fly to Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe, in the first week of July to play the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The first match of the series will be played at Harare Sports Club, Harare, on July 6, 2024.
