“Will be Back Stronger in No Time”, Sai Sudharsan After Surgery for Sports Hernia

The 23-year-old Tamil Nadu and Gujarat Titans (GT) batter B Sai Sudharsan has surgery in London for a sports hernia. Sai Sudarshan appeared in only one Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 game this season, scoring nine against Tripura, before joining the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Sudharsan is expected to miss the whole Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.

Before his lone Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy participation, Sudharsan was with India A in Australia, where he performed admirably in the first four-day game, scoring 21 and 103, but struggled in the second, scoring just 0 and 3. That followed a strong performance in the first half of this season’s two-part Ranji Trophy when he scored 82 against Saurashtra and 213 against Delhi in just two innings.

Sudharsan was one of five players retained by Gujarat Titans for 8.50 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. With the IPL 2025 starting in March, GT would expect Sudharsan to recover and continue where he left off from last season when he was their leading scorer with 527 runs from 12 innings at an average of 47.90 and a strike rate of 141.28.Sudharsan is seen wearing a thumb Splint during practice session.
