ICC Unveiled Groups & Fixtures of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The ICC has updated the schedule of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup is moved to the UAE after protests, riots, and unrest in Bangladesh, and now matches of this tournament will take place in Dubai and Sharjah. 

A total of 10 teams are participating in this tournament, divided into two groups of five teams each. The six-time champion Australia is grouped in Group A with 2020 runners-up India, Trans-Tasman foe New Zealand, and Asian teams Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Group B comprises Bangladesh, Scotland, England, South Africa and West Indies.  

Australia, India, England, South Africa, West Indies, and New Zealand qualified for this tournament as the top six teams from the previous Women’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan qualified based on the ICC Women’s T20 rankings, while Sri Lanka and Scotland came through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers.  

According to the structure of this tournament, each team will play four group games, and the top teams from both groups will qualify for the semifinals, which are scheduled to be played on 17 and 18 October; the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will take place in Dubai on 20 October. The ICC has already decided that if India qualifies for the semifinals, then they will feature in Semifinal 1.
