Bangladesh Squad for India T20I Series: Mahidy Hasan Miraj gets a recall, Sarkar gets dropped

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against India. Test team skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto will also lead the T20I squad.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been called up to the Bangladesh men’s T20I team for the series against India. But Soumya Sarkar has not been called up to the squad; however, left-handed opening batsman Parvez Hossain Emon and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan have.

Mehidy has been a reliable performer for Bangladesh in Tests and ODIs for more than a year, which has aided in his comeback to T20Is after he was absent from the format for 14 months.

Along with skipper Shanto, Bangladesh’s batting unit will comprise Mahmudullah, Litton Das, and Jaker Ali. Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will lead the Bangladesh bowling.

Bangladesh will play their first series without their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who announced his retirement from the T20 format ahead of the second Test against India in Kanpur.

Bangladesh last toured India for a T20I series in 2019, where they lost the three-match series 2-1.
