Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Pitch Behaviour

The pitch at the SCG is a great batting surface with an even bounce and pace of the surface. Although the wicket in Sydney may not be as quick as GABBA or Perth, it is still a threat for batters who can’t handle the pace & spongy bounce. In white ball games, the Sydney Cricket Ground offers a batting-friendly venue where batsmen enjoy the pace and bounce of the wicket. However, in red ball long format games, Sydney is one of those grounds that assist spinners on Aus grounds.

In test matches the pitch at SCG remains a good batting track for the first two to three days; after that, it gives enough assistance to spinners to wrap a team on their own.
