BCCI Named Indian Squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

India has announced a star-studded squad for the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain a formidable 15-person team at this tournament in the United Arab Emirates. The Women in Blue, who advanced to the semifinals in the previous edition, are grouped with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in Group A.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who is anticipated to start the batting with Shafali Verma, will assist Harmanpreet in leading the team. Another top-order alternative in the lineup is Dayalan Hemalatha. In addition to them, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Deepti Sharma will strengthen a strong batting lineup.

Richa, along with Yastika Bhatia, are the team‘s designated wicketkeepers. Among the bowling options are Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma, Asha Sobhana, Sajana Sajeevan, and Shreyanka Patil. India has a good number of all-round players, including Deepti, Sajana, Harmanpreet, and Sobhana.

Yastika and Shreyanka’s selection is contingent on their level of fitness since both players have struggled with injuries in recent months. For the event in the UAE, India will also have three traveling reserves and two non-traveling reserves.
