Champions Trophy 2025 Injury Updates: English Pacer Brydon Carse Got Eliminated from the Tournament Due to Toe Injury

England’s fast bowling allrounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the ongoing Champions Trophy in Pakistan due to injury adding another name to the list of injured fast bowlers ruled out of the tournament.

Carse who has been ruled out of a toe injury is expected to be replaced by Jamie Overton in the next match against Afghanistan on 26th February. The injury hasn’t been a sudden setback for Carse the Durham quickie was considered fit enough to play against Australia on Saturday.

However, his discomfort was evident on the pitch and in the scorecard, as he finished as the most costly bowler on the day with an economy rate of 9.85 as Australia knocked down a 352-run goal with 15 balls to spare.

Carse missed England’s training session on Monday due to a left toe injury that required continual attention during his playing career.

Brydon Carse has a history of toe problems that started with a blister during the white-ball series in the last month against India, which required stitches and caused Carse to miss the final two ODIs.

It is currently believed to have deteriorated and may require more therapy. As a result, the 29-year-old has been dropped from England’s 15-man squad ahead of their Group B match against Afghanistan in Lahore, with their last match against South Africa coming up in Karachi on Saturday.

The ICC ratified his withdrawal on Monday afternoon. With no need for a comparable replacement, leg spinner Rehan Ahmed has been called up to take Carse’s place in Englad’s Squad for Champions Trophy 2025.
