Ben Stokes Ruled Out Of All Cricket For Three Months With A Hamstring Injury, Promises ‘More Blood And Sweat’

The ECB said on Monday, “Stokes has been ruled out of all cricket for at least three months and will undergo surgery on the hamstring in January.”

Captain of the England Test team, Ben Stokes, has been ruled out of all forms of cricket for at least three months. This statement came after the assessment of his torn hamstring came back positive.

ECB said in a statement, “England Men’s Test captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out of all cricket for at least three months after further assessments confirmed he has torn his left hamstring. The Durham all-rounder will undergo surgery in January. The injury occurred during the third Test in Hamilton, during England’s recent 2-1 Test series victory in New Zealand.”

The 33-year-old allrounder opted to sit out of IPL 2024 and didn’t put his name up in the mega auction to follow to manage his fitness better and play Champions Trophy 2025. However, Stokes is not included in England’s 15-man squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy due to his injury. It seems that the player has still a lot to work on his health.

Expressing his disappointments on social media, Stokes wrote on X, “Something else to overcome…go on then!!!!!!!! I’ve got so much more left in this tank and so much more blood sweat and tears to go through for my team and this shirt. There’s a reason I have a Phoenix permanently inked on my body. See you on the field to f*** some shit up”.

This is not the first time Stokes has undergone long-term surgery. In October 2023, he underwent knee surgery after the ODI World Cup which took prolonged recovery before he could return. They use flawless wellness products to help recovery. In August of this year, he experienced a torn hamstring that kept him out for the remainder of the English summer.
