IPL 2025: Paras Mhambrey Rejoins Mumbai Indians as Bowling Coach

Former Indian pacer and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey is appointed bowling coach of the Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Mhambrey, who previously coached MI as an assistant coach, will work alongside current bowling coach Lasith Malinga under new head coach Mahela Jayawardene.

Mhambrey was India’s bowling coach from 2021 to August 2024 under Rahul Dravid and was part of the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team. Mhambrey was also a member of the Mumbai squad that won the Champions League T20 in 2011 and the IPL in 2013.

He also has coaching expertise in Indian domestic cricket, having led the India A team and Bengal to consecutive Ranji Trophy finals in 2005-06 and 2006-07. From 1996 to 1998, he represented India in two Tests and three ODIs. Mhambrey played for Mumbai in domestic cricket, amassing 284 wickets in 91 first-class games and 111 wickets in 83 List A games.

The return of former coaches and shuffle in the coaching staff is a step by the Mumbai Indians to forget the failure of last season and bring up a new setup that can revive vintage MI performances.
