In the ongoing women’s T20 World Cup West Indies beat England by handing them a 6-wicket defeat in Dubai. The West Indies won the toss and asked England to bat first on a flat batting track. England took the challenge in hand and posted a decent total of 141/7 in 20 overs. Generally, 142 is not an easy score to chase, but the West Indian opening pair of Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph formed a 102-run partnership in 12 overs to take the game away from England. After the opening stand of 100 runs, the result of the match proved a formality, which West Indies fulfilled in 18 overs and qualified for the semis at the cost of England.
