10/10: Mongolia registered another embarrassing record in cricket

Mongolia registered another unwanted record in cricket—the lowest total in men’s T20Is. Mongolia was bundled out for 10 runs against Singapore, the joint-lowest score in men’s T20I cricket. Before Mongolia, the record belongs to the Isle of Man, which was wrapped up on 10 runs by Spain on February 25, 2023, in a T20I match.

The incident happened during an ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier game in Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia. The match started with the toss, which went in Singapore’s favor, and Singapore decided to field first. It took Singapore just 10 overs to bowl out Mongolia on 10 runs.

Singapore’s teenage leg-spinner Harsha Bharadwaj sent back six Mongolian batters and ended this match with a spell of 6/3. These are the second-best bowling figures in men’s T20Is. Five Mongolian batters were removed for a duck, and no player managed more than two. In response, Singapore chased down the 11-run target effortlessly in just 5 balls.

Mongolia now recorded three of the four lowest team totals in men’s T20Is, all of which came in the last four months.
