India is not expected to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy

India is unlikely to visit Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy, according to a BCCI source who spoke to ANI. The Indian team would request that the International Cricket Council (ICC) host its matches in Sri Lanka or Dubai instead of Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.

Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in February and March of that year. Since the 2008 Asia Cup, India has not taken part in any cricket tournaments held in Pakistan due to bitter relations between the two nations.

India hosted the two nations’ most recent bilateral series from December 2012 to January 2013. Since then, the two nations have only squared off at the Asia Cup and ICC events.

India’s participation in the next tournament has been clouded by uncertainty because of the two nations’ ties.

India’s cricket board BCCI had suggested to Pakistan that they host all of their matches in a single city. A report from ESPNcricinfo states that all of India’s matches will take place in Lahore. However, the idea of visiting Pakistan does not appeal to the Indian board.

“India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025,” a BCCI source said to ANI in reference to India’s participation in this prestigious mega event. We will ask the ICC to host its matches in either Sri Lanka or Dubai.”

In May, Rajeev Shukla, the vice president of the BCCI, stated that the Indian team would only travel to Pakistan for the competition if the national government approved it.
