In IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals continued their dream run with a nail-biting performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator as major shifts happened in Orange Cap and Purple Cap standings for its players.
However, the innings was mainly highlighted by a blistering 97-run knock in only 29 balls from young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The hard-hitting opener hit 12 enormous sixes in his explosive innings and broke Chris Gayle’s long-standing record for the most number of sixes in a single IPL season. Vaibhav also missed out on achieving the fastest ever IPL century by three runs.
This innings propelled the Rajasthan Royals batter to the top of the Orange Cap, with 680 runs this season. Gujarat Titans stars Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill are still in the race, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru veteran Virat Kohli is also well with 600 runs.
Dhruv Jurel was another major contributor with the bat, smashing the 50-run blast against Hyderabad in no time. He scored a 50 off just 21 balls to breach the 500-run mark for the season as well as bolster Rajasthan’s one-sided batting show.
Heinrich Klaasen ended up as the highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026 with 624 runs, while Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma closed out the tournament as the joint-highest run-scorers.
Jofra Archer picked up 3 wickets for SRH in the bowling department after continuing his excellent form. Despite leaking a few runs, his early strikes against the very top-order batsmen of Hyderabad proved to be vital. With this couple of wickets, Archer now has 24 runs to his name in this season and still remains in the hunt for the Purple Cap as he is now at third position behind Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada who have jointly taken 26 wickets.
